Happy Tuesday to you! Well, the holidays are just around the corner and entertaining is on it’s way. How exciting! So I thought I would show you a few different ways to dress up your napkins and flatware with things around the house. It is tons of fun to gather items around the house and they always make great conversation pieces! Here are some I put together…

From top left to right…1. A paint swatch from the paint department, best part is it’s free and you can get one to go with any color scheme to match your decor. 2. Cotton ribbon tied around the flatware I saved it from the packaging of an item I purchased a while back. 3. Christmas tree ornaments and a small strip of satin ribbon. 4. A washed/dried out capri-sun juice pouch, put a slit in the back to slip the flatware and napkins inside. These are great for the kids table or a picnic : ). 5. A doily and a thin strip of grosgrain ribbon. 6. A real tea bag tied with raffia adds a small touch. 7. A large satin ribbon holds flatware and accented with a gift wrapping bow. 8. Seal an envelope (choosing an envelope in a print or color would be much more fun), then cut a small amount off one end and slide flatware and napkin inside. This one would be fun for a small casual gathering. 9. A rolled up napkin held with hair elastic’s (do your guests a favor and use new ones…not used. : ) ) These would be fun on a girls night.  10. A cookie cutter tied with raffia accents a cloth napkin nicely.

There are all sorts of different ways you can dress up your table. Have fun looking around your house for new ideas! Oh, and please share any ideas you come across! I would love to hear!

What great ideas! I like the cookie cutter one. One tradition I started last year is having a cookie exchange party at my home every christmas. My mom used to do them while I was growing up. So I will be using the cookie cutter napkin rings for that party. ;)

Thanks for sharing ;)

I like the tea bag one! It is a cute favor for a party! At a friend’s wedding, they tied individual packets of crystal-lite lemonaide to the silverware. It is cute and it saves on space for drinks! :)

It’s pretty hard to pick just one that I like, because in time, I’m pretty sure I’ll use each of them at least once…but I think the first one I’ll do is the Christmas tree ornament one….it is after all my favorite holiday :)
